Tumblr is to tumblelogs as Blogger is to weblogs. What's the difference between a tumblelog and a weblog, you ask? While the principles are essentially the same, tumblelogs are much simpler, allowing writers and readers to immediately focus in on what they care about most: the raw content. Tumblr is a web service/application that allows you to create tumblelogs instantly, onto which you can post short text entries, photos, quotes, links, chats and videos. As if that isn't already good enough, you can also add people to your friends list to see what they're posting at any given moment. Davidville, the people who run Tumblr, commissioned me to create the graphic elements branding their six content formats.
